
GAFFNEY, Casey Knute-- our beloved son and brother, died suddenly at the age of 39, on Sunday evening August 18, 2002, from an apparent heart attack, in his home while watching his favorite baseball team, the Dodgers. Casey purchased his own home and had a love of his life, Jeniece Pak, whom he talked of marring. Jeniece and Casey just returned home from spending a magical time together in Europe.
Casey was raised in Sunnyvale, born at El Camino Hospital to Phyllis and Walt Gaffney on March 28, 1963, He attended Fremont High School and graduated from CSU, Chico with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Casey loved working and was filled with a generous spirit. He enjoyed his relationships with employees and had a special bond with his employer Fred Murabito. He was privileged to be a Godfather to Fred's youngest son, and to be awarded Employee of the Year for All Chem. Casey had a whimsical, fun-loving, magnetic spirit. enjoying family and friends, baseball and fishing. All that knew him loved his tenacity for transformation into deeply religious, well rounded soul, who cared for all life and God his Heavenly Father. Casey's special gift in life was his ability to lead people to Jesus. He took this leadership role into the hearts of his family and all that he met.
Casey is survived by his parents Walt and Phyllis Gaffney, his brother Wally Gaffney, his sister-in-law Lynn Gaffney, his sister Melissa Joy Gaffney, his brother-in-law Robert Clinkenbeard, his nieces Kailey and Makenna Gaffney, and his fiance Jeniece Pak. He is survived by several uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends.
Memorial Service is Friday August 23, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at LIMA FAMILY SUNNYVALE MORTUARY, 1315 Hollenbeck Avenue. Donations to be made to United Lutheran Church, Pastor Tom Dodd, 2230 Washington Street, Eugene, Oregon, 97405.
