This truly breaks my heart.  Dave Mack informed me of the passing of Darlene.

Her and I were very good friends and I am saddened by the loss.

Darlene Ann H. Madrid, 49, a resident of Hurley, NM entered eternal rest Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, NM. She was born February 27, 1963 in Silver City to Eloy R. Hernandez and Eulalia “Eula” Chavez. Darla loved spending time outdoors camping with her family and friends. She was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan and enjoyed a good game. A good multi-tasker, she could talk on the phone, do her makeup and comb her hair all while driving. She loved eating her Nino Maca's and Nina Maggie's menudo. Always with a smile on her face, Darla could brighten up any room with her quick whit and positive attitude. Above all, she absolutely adored the men in her life, her husband and her baby boy (her batman.) Last but not least, "Little Sister" and "Mika" were a light in her life, to comfort her when she needed love the most. She is survived by her loving husband of 18 yrs, Mateo Madrid of the family home; one son, Matthew Montana Madrid and girlfriend Tiffany Silvas of Hurley; two daughters, Cassandra Madrid of Tucson, AZ; Sharisse Madrid also of Tucson, AZ; six grandchildren, RJ, Ismael, Orlando, Christian Curiel, Aden and Kaleb Ochoa; two sisters, Yvonne Trujillo and husband Steve of San Jose, CA; Hilda H. Soto and husband Christobal of Campbell, CA; half brother, Eloy Medina and wife Connie from Bayard; nieces and nephews, Scott and Stephen Trujillo, Stephanie Cota, Christopher and Eloy Soto, Lynette and Randy Hernandez, April and Faith Cook, Antoinette Holderfield, Jackie and Christopher Hanson, Christina Maldonado, Barry and Kristin Moke, Angel Pierce and Veronica Nuñez; several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Michael Randy Hernandez.
