“Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.”
This poem was written by Lynn Dlobik and passed out at her memorial service.
How I yearn to be by your side and feel you warm loving embrace And feel you nail wounded hands gently caress my face. I long to sit at the foot of your throne Having you kindly smile and tell I'm never alone. I ache to see you face to face, And hear you say that you took my place. I long to hear the angels hosannas to You sing, And bow before You with praises to bring. I yearn to be with You, JESUS, the son, And hear You say, "Your earthly work was well done." I so badly want to soar like an eagle to heights so high, Being free from all cares above the sky. I want to feel the warmth of Your unconditional love, And be filled overflowing with Your Spirit as like a dove. I yearn to be free from this prison I'm now living in, And be cleansed thoroughly washed from all sin. I want praise to spew out of my mind, heart, body and spirit, and know beyond a shadow of a doubt that You delight in hearing it. I feel as if I can no longer go on like this day after day, And want so badly for peace and joy to come my way. Yes, sweet JESUS, I long to be with You, Away from all hurts and burdens that are new. I ache to be with You in my heavenly home, And pray that You soon answer the words to my poem.
Lynn was an amazing human being in so many ways. I remember being on a field Trip to Lannon Field Farms in 6th grade, and Lynn came down with a terrible migraine. I spent the entire day in the barracks with her holding a bucket while she threw up! What I remember most about Lynn is her indomitable spirit and sense of optimism after her diving accident (evidenced by her paintings)...she never lost hope, or her sense of humor. I remember thinking, then and now, that I could learn so much from her attitude and approach to life...and maybe, to a certain degree, I have...
I think about Lynn often, as I see a little bit of her in her neice, Katelyn Keckeisen Bacon. Katelyn is a Hamilton High graduate, who excelled at sports just like her Aunt Lynn. Now Katelyn is my neice too, as she married my nephew, Kyle Bacon, last August!
I think of Lynn often.....we had a couple of classes together the year of her accident. I think of her when I see her siblings in Sussex, when I come back for visits. I know she is the happiest she could ever be; in heaven with our Savior. I know I will see her again, and that makes me smile.
