Cara Whelan Wilson passed away on April 9, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer. Cara was a four-year varsity letter winner in tennis and participated in four state qualifying tournaments. In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Cara was also a class officer for 4 years. After graduation from Northview, she attended Bowling Green State University on a tennis scholarship. She graduated from Bowling Green in 1992 and moved to Chicago to start her career. In September of 1994 Cara married Jim Wilson and they resided in Chicago. Cara's three sisters Colleen ('85), Christine ('86) and Cathi ('91) were also Northview graduates. She is greatly missed by all those that were blessed to know her and we still find inspiration from her strength and courage. Donations can be made in Cara's memory to the American Brain Tumor Association - (800) 886-2282 or ABTA, 2720 River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60018.

I moved to Sylvania before 2nd grade. I attended Highland, McCord and Sylvania Northview with Cara. If I could say just one thing about Cara, it would be: EVERYONE liked her.
