ORIGINAL OBITUARY PUBLISHED IN JANUARY OF 2010
TROY RECORD NEWSPAPER

PHOENIX, Ariz. Dorothy Marie Millhouse Nazzaro, 64, of Phoenix Ariz. and Malta, N.Y. entered into eternal life surrounded by members of her loving family on January 14, 2010. Born and raised in Troy, N.Y., she was a 1963 graduate of Troy High School. She was employed for ten years by Cluett Peabody & Company in Troy as a clerical supervisor in the data processing department and for ten years in various administrative positions with the NYS Departments of Health, Labor, and Transportation in Albany, N.Y. After retiring eight years ago, she and her husband Andrew divided their time between Malta, and Phoenix where their children and grandchildren reside. Her sisters remind us that, while growing up, she always got a headache just before it was time to do the dishes and that Avon has now lost their best customer. Dottie loved flowers even more than shopping at the mall and going to the Saratoga Race Track and the Saratoga Racino with her sister, Angela. Each year, she decorated her yards, front and back, in both Malta and Phoenix with flowers. Her husband is sure that, if there were no flowers in heaven when she got there, there certainly are now. He says it is a shame that a heart that big is now broken. Perhaps her chest was just not big enough to hold it. Totally devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren, she personified the saying that it is more blessed to give than to receive. She took pleasure in going out of her way to accommodate everyone's individual tastes at family social events she hosted, such as her annual Italian Christmas vigil dinner. She is survived by her husband, Andrew F. Nazzaro; and by sisters, Florence (Joseph) Mangione, Eleanor (Gerald) Daniels, Angela (Normand) Caron; and brother, George (Jean) Millhouse. She is survived also by her children, Maureen (Chris) Petkiewicz, Andrew G. Nazzaro, Philip (Jennifer) Nazzaro; grandchildren, Matthew and Nicholas Petkiewicz, Lauren Nazzaro, Robert Nazzaro, Anne Nazzaro; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, George E. and Angeline K. Millhouse and a sister, Jean Ange Millhouse. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Desert Hills Mortuary and Memorial Park, 6500 E. Bell Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85254, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. where interment will follow a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joan of Arc Church, 3801 E. Greenway Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85032, to be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2010. A memorial service will be held at a later date in New York. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to the American Heart Association.
