In Memory

Yvette Yates

On May 15, 2006 the Heavens opened and God received a special angel into His kingdom. Yvette passed away unexpectedly in New Orleans. Yvette was born on January 15, 1971, in Honolulu, Hawaii. She leaves behind her mother and stepfather Marie and Glenn Medlin; her father and stepmother Frank and Mitsuko Yates, and her brother Scott Yates. Yvette also leaves behind two birth families that loved her very much. Her grandparents Hazel and Lou Benton, many aunts, uncles and cousins from the Pacella family who live throughout the U.S. and the Yates family from Hawaii. She was also blessed with several extended families including the Adam-Hiles family from Lakewood and her New Orleans family. Yvette graduated from Stadium High School in 1989 and South Seattle Culinary College in 1991. She was a gifted chef and cooked in some of the finest restaurants in Seattle, Arizona, Louisiana, New York, Mexico and Australia. She loved to travel and visited Europe, Costa Rica, Australia and many of our 50 states. Yvette also had a special place in her heart for children and animals. Yvette was born a free spirit and didn t have a judgmental bone in her body. Everyone was her friend and she gave you her love unconditionally. The earth will be a little emptier without her, but we need to remember that the greatest gift God can give us is a child, the greatest pain He will let us endure is the loss of that child, yet He is a gracious and loving God and has welcomed Yvette into His kingdom and will now watch over her, until we are all reunited in Heaven.
