Thomas L. Ewing, 45, of Andalusia, passed away on Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, at Trinity Rock Island.

A memorial service celebrating Tom's life will be 7 p.m. Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Visitation is 3 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for a fund to be designated later.

Thomas Lee Ewing was born on June 2, 1965, in Moline, a son of William H. and Carol Terry Ewing. He married Kim T. Garrow on May 2, 1992, in Long Grove, Iowa.

Tom worked 21 years as a welder at Reflex Fitness Products, Milan.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Tom loved the outdoors and was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Whitetails Unlimited and several other sporting organizations. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and also enjoyed other sports, especially following the Chicago Cubs and Bears.

Survivors include his wife, Kim; brother, Bill (Joan) Ewing, Taylor Ridge; sister, Terri "T.C." (Richard) Barton, Mason, Tenn.; father-in-law, Joe (Teresa) Garrow, Eldridge; mother-in-law, Joan (Robert) Steele, Wheatland, Iowa; brother-in-law, Bill (Kerry) Garrow, Grand Mound, Iowa; sister-in-law, Patty (Eric) Schulz, Wheatland; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
