Oh Dear Lord,
Where can you start when a life is stopped in it's trakes like Sonya's was. I don't know about the rest of you guys but May 30th 1985 I really grew up. I came home from work and Kevin Sipe was at my house. He told me about Sonya. I realized on that day that we can all go, no matter how young, how confident, or indistructable we think we are ...we can ALL go in an instant.

We are left with the memories of someone who really touched our lives. I remember Sonya was always in front on me in class from the first grade until we went to junior high. She was my first crush...she even came home with me after school one time and I will never forget trying to kiss her... well, third grade that was a lot...lol Her mom was the GREATEST subsitute teacher you could ever have, even though she did get onto me about the AV eqiptment and someone else trying to take my "job" in the 8th grade....I REMEMBER...I remember cupcakes Linda Gayle brought in the 5th grade when Mrs. Hill was out. But Linda Gayle "MRS. Rector never let Sonya call her mom. SHE WAS ALWAYS FAIR....THEN WHY? Sonya was never rude to me or never put me down, and never made me feel like I was an outcast!!!...we NEED people like that. So much ahead for her...Mrs.Rector,
I will ALWAYS be in memory of Sonya!!
And espically Linda Gayle and Larry!!!
You were GREAT parents...to more kids than you realizse!!!
I will always love Sonya and Linda Gayle!!! and yes you too Larry.

I read Michael's post and I believe she was all the guys crush. Such a beautiful girl on the outside but especially on the inside. She would look you in the eye and be so courteous to you. And yes her mom was the best sub teacher. I go to church with Linda and Larry and I know they still agonize of the loss. But, they have lived a life that inspires you to enjoy everyone, not just your own. Sonya is missed but certainly not forgotten.

Sonya was an outstanding softball player and I truly enjoyed being on the field with her. She was always kind and helpful to her team mates. I really miss the good ole days of being on the ballfield, and when I think back the first person that comes to my mind is Sonya. Her family are very special people and will always have a special place in my heart. One day we will all be reunited together. Love and miss you Sonya!!

Sonya was an awesome young lady. I was so amazed at the friendship that she and her mother had. You don't hear of very many mother and daughters that would ride around town with one another. Linda was such a good mother and Sonya knew that. Sonya had a very profound respect for her mother. Sonya had a smile that just would not stop. It was a beautiful smile that if you close your eyes and concentrate, you can still see. I remember when I found out that Sonya had died, I wanted to have someone tell me that it was not true. She was the first friend that I had ever experienced dying. We had attended school together from 1st grade all through 12th. Friends were not suppose to die that young.

Well I really don't know where to begin. But Sonya & I were best friends from 8th grade thru high school & afterwards. She was such an inspiration to me. She always smiled and we shared many many memories together. I guess that I have tried to hide the pain of this tragedy that took place that night May 30th, 1985. When I read what others had written about her I just cried like a baby. I will always cherish the special friendship that she & I had. As for Linda & Larry I know there are no words to say for her loss, but we have to cling to the time when we will see her again. What a wonderful day that will be!! I love & miss you both!! A very fond memory was the pecial mom necklace, remember that Linda? I know you do. Sonya was the very best friend that I have ever had in my life!!!!
