While I did not know Selma well in high school, her passing reminds me that we are all running out of time. Let's make use of the time we have to add positive memories that we might in some small way leave a light to those we leave behind.

Selma and I have been friends since senior year. Selma worked in a bakery and I worked in a supermarket a half a block away. On her break she would come down to the market and we would have a soda together.. After high school I went in the Air Force so we lost touch for a few years. One day while I worked in New York I was having lunch in a diner and Selma came in and we stayed in touch ever since. The last few months Selma was in excurating pain constanly.and when we talked on the phone she was begging to pass away. I usually had tears in my eyes after hanging up with her. I truley hope to God she is in a better place. I will miss her.

Sorry to hear that, Larry. It was the sort of ending we all dread, I'm sure. Thank you for being her friend.

So very sorry to hear. Selma just recently commented on one of my posts on Facebook. Had no idea anything might be wrong. We have communicated over the years and were friends in school. Will miss her.
