TUHS 3-Class, 60 Year Reunion Pics

Someone said "Less is Better," and the 60 year reunion was "The Best So Far." We didn't have a professional photographer (so did we really need one with all the phone cameras), we didn't have guest speakers (we all know what we liked about "Old Tempe), but we did want to so see old friends, maybe start a new friendship with someone we knew back in the Ice Age at Tempe High.

With all the remaining Covid/Covid Variations/ and Nile Virus warnings, it almost didn't happen. We forged on as John Ellingson reminded us, Onward and Upward. We met our hotel objectives for room reservations and the Saturday evening Buffett. We did have to forgo the reception with no host bar, however, scheduled for Thursday and Friday nights. That didn't stop the class of 60, 61, and 62 from getting together for fun and conversation. We closed the Hotel Bar then headed into the lobby to re-live our days in Tempe. Did I mention they close the bar at 9:30 PM?

Friday, the crowd headed out to See Tempe again, or what's left of Tempe. Highlights included the Sandra Day O'Connor Adobe, the Four Peaks Brewery Tour and lunch/dinner, then a nap to recharge for the evening gathering.

Saturday, off to the Petersen House then in the afternoon, the Tour of Tempe High. I am always impressed with the Campus as it has grown and spread out on the grounds. Reminds me more of a College Campus than a High School. Well maintained, clean and equipped with all the latest technology. I have to admit that it would take me about 5 minutes to get to from the Administration building to the Cafeteria. Students have 5 minutes, in some cases, to travel from one end of campus to the other side, nearly by my estimation to be three-quarters of a mile or more.

Saturday was the finale, the Southwestern Buffett. Doors opened at 6:00 and dinner started a little early at just past 6:30. Food was plentiful...
