Our 20th Reunion is in the very early planning stages. This is a great place to post ideas for our reunion, as well as communicate with old classmates. I'm really excited about our reunion - I can't wait to see everyone.
If there are some event planners out there, we'd be more than happy to benefit from your experience
Looking forward to hearing from the Class of '89!
Megan

Hey...I am no event planner, but I end up planning lots of events. Would be glad to help any way I can!!!
Ray LaPoint
I’m glad that I found this site. I look forward to attending the reunion. It will be great to see everyone again.
I have experience in catering and taken care of the logistical end of events, so if there is anything I can do the help, please let me know.
Wow 20 years. Where did the time go?
Denise Jimenez
Megan-
I'm just up the 'road' from you here in Georgetown. Let me know what I can do to help.
Looking forward to seeing everyone!
Megan Hiley DiTeresa
Hi Denise! Hi Ray! It's good to hear from you guys - I'm glad to "see" you guys on the site. We will definitely let you know how you can help. Can't wait to catch up with you at the reunion - it'll be here before we know it.
I don't know where the last 20 years have gone - it just doesn't seem possible that it has been that long since high school. Yikes.

Great to see all of you here on the site. As Megan said, we will contact all of you willing to give a hand in planning as soon as the planning begins!
Right now we are working on finding all our classmates. So, start checking your address books. Please send an email to any classmates and give them the website or go directly to the profile page, click on their name and send them an invitation to this site. Also, if you do not have email addresses for classmates, but happen to have a phone number, please call and give them this website.
I am looking forward to catching up with all of you and most of all seeing you at the reunion!
Thanks,
Misti Richter Weaver

Hey ya'll it's me Lori Hendy (Klandrud) I'm no hostess with the mostess but since I'm here in Temple. Just let me know if I can do anything to help you out!!!!! Sean and I can host the pre-party at our house!! we just did it for his reunion!!
Allison Lueck
I'm back in Temple also so let me know if I can help. I do think we ought to see about when class of 99 and 79 are planning their reunions so that we're not all planning on the same weekend whenever we get to that stage of the game.
Misti Richter Weaver
Great to hear from you Lori and Allison. It will be great to have people in Temple to help with the planning and final details! Lori, you will be a great resource as well since you just went to 88. Any ideas?
Thanks Lori for the offer of the pre-party. Love that idea.
Thanks to you Allison for thinking ahead. I had not thought of that. Will definitely check into dates. The plan...
Friday: Homecoming game
After Party at a bar/restaurant
Saturday: Family Day
Reunion Party
The date is pending the release of the football schedule. The athletic department told me it would be July. Ugh!
We are looking to have the Saturday night party somewhere other than the country club. Please post any ideas for Friday night after game, family day, and Saturday night Reunion Party.
Look forward to catching up!
Misti Richter Weaver
Head Hancho that's me! HA!!!!!!!!
Megan, you know if I am head hancho that makes you....co-head hancho! Meet you in the boardroom for planning! I'll bring the wine!

Gee, there are just so many options for Friday night, LOL! 88 went to O'Brien's (once was Outer Limits? the teen club). They're a little high on their drink prices so I say Duck Tavern is probably our best bet (once was Brookbrowers or whatever). They finally opened Frank's (at the lake) again but who really wants to make that drive? We frequent all 3 places so maybe we can swing some deals. Just let me know.
Lori Klandrud Hendy
O'brien's was pricey but we thought more fun than Duck Horn because that night there was a band and you couldn't visit with anybody because it was so loud. But I bet if there isn't a band going on there could be lot's of visiting going on! The group we were with enjoyed O'brien's alot more because of that reason. Dead Fish Grill is an idea for Sat. night. 30 year reunion just got finished having their's there. Our secretary at school headed her reunion and said it turned out good there. It probably won't seem like that far of a drive for some of the people coming from big cities. But it might be with drinkin' going on
Lot's to think about!!
Megan Hiley DiTeresa
I'm really liking the Dead Fish Grill idea (although that name is so weird!). Half our class and/or their parents probably live in Belton now anyway! Maybe we could strike a deal with a couple of cab companies for reduced rates and a stream of cars... does Temple have a cab company?
I'll be thinking on the Friday night bar idea. I'll talk to my sister - she tries to go out on the town when she can so she might have some ideas.
Lori Klandrud Hendy
I'm pretty sure that we have a cab company. Believe it or not. We have a Target Woo Hoo!! I know Dead Fish Grill I HATE the name. But I heard it was a nice place?!?!?!
Sheryl Messer
This is Sheryl...I am still in Temple..yes I know but if you leave Temple you fall of the earth dont you...So I will help any way I can.
I agree with the NO County Club...THANK YOU THANK YOU...talking to someone with the class of 85 had their 20 year reunion at KC Hall, yes not real glamourous...but brought on liquor (yes somewhat of a hassle) and had a band..I like the Dead Fish if they get the other side finished by then. There is always Sefcik Hall...yes another glamourous place..but getting up and down the stairs could be quite entertaining...I know some of the suggested are not as pretty...but as a member of Wildflower, I only go to the pool...so that might say something...
Once again...will help in any way...Lori and I know how to plan over happy hour...
Misti Richter Weaver
Thanks for all the great ideas. I am so excited to have so many offers of help! Look forward to future planning with all!

Hi all! I can't believe we are thinking about our 20 year reunion. I went with Mark to his 20th - the Friday night party was a blast! I love that party since people that graduate in close year's also attend and it is a fun time to catch up. Their Happy Hour was at the Duck, but I agree about trying to talk over the band. The Dead Fish may be the best option that I can think of ... O'briens is too smokey for those non-smokers and since the Dead Fish is open air, the smokers can still enjoy a puff and the smoke blows right out to the lake.
Mark's 20th reunion family day was at Peaceable Kingdom. That was great fun for the kids and the grown ups. Since this is in the fall, it won't conflict with the camps out there. If someone knows Shawn & Scott Simmons, it is worth a call. It is a bit of a drive, but well worth it!
His Saturday night party was at In the Mood Ballroom. That was a nice place for this type of event. I suggest a DJ and lots of alcohol - and a pre-party would be fantastic!
Be sure to set the tone with the dress for the event. Mark's was cocktain attire - I think the homecomeing queen wore a formal to the floor gown. Maybe more casual would be more laid back and fun.
Just brainstorming! Let me know if I can help!

If you are in town over the holidays, several of us have been talking about meeting at the Dead Fish Grill for happy hour on Dec. 26 at 6:00 pm. Hope to see you then! ~Betti

I have to agree with Sheryl about Wildflower. You don't get what you paid for there. I think a DJ is a better idea than a band. With a DJ you can somewhat control the volume and band you can't. With do have a DJ that would help us out. Gene Hargrove is a DJ. I bet he would help us out on the price. I think I have his card somewhere. I could give a call if you want. Just let me know

I am planning on attending the reunion. I would love to help in any way. Not sure what I can do from Utah. My twin brother Brent would like to come as well but he is in an executive MBA program every other weekend -- so it just depends on the weekend. I am game to do whatever is needed.
Shannon Havins Henry
Hey all, I have spoken with a friend/co-worker of mine who happens to be a DJ as well. Does lots and lots of events around here. He is also a music producer and DJ's at the Junction. The locals may already know him too, his name is Calvin, very diverse and experienced. He said he would be happy to book with us if we are interested. Jus lemme know!
Oh and I'm all about the Dead Fish Grill
Has become one of my favorites. There's a back room that's indoors that could probably be reserved. The room has access to the back outdoor patio which is quite nice and overlooks the lake. Great Choice!

Hi all yes it has been 20yrs. Yall are sure getting old...he he. I just get better with age. I am in Temple as well and if you do decide to have anything at a lodge or something like that.I got the perfect DJ. My brother Gene does that as a side job and I am sure he wouldnt be that expensive. He does all kind of Birthday Party (adult)wedding receptions and more. So just let me know whats up and I will get with him. He also stil lives in Temple. I can say I did leave for awhile. He is also planning to attend the reunion as well. I look forward to catching up with all of you. Take care

Class of 89. I am excited about our class reunion, 20 years. It seems like we 4 more months to our big day. I am currently living in Temple. I want for our class to have the best reunion Temple has ever seen. So I would love to be a part of this reunion,so everyone who attends will feel like it is our Senior homecoming game party ,but the only diffence is everyone of age and no curfew. So to all my classmates stay blessed and see you at the reunion.
Sam Hill
Good day to all those that call Temple High its alma mater. I hope to see everyone at the 20 year. It seems we have lot of catching up to do. If anyone knows the dates could you pass them along. Some of us have to make sure we can get half way around the world in time.
