Eric Paul Krueger

Eric Paul Krueger was born to Otto and Sadie Dodds Krueger on October 18, 1964.

He graduated from McCullough High School where he starred in football and sang in the choir.  He attended Sam Houston State College where he majored in accounting. His education served him well in his career choice as a technical recruiter for the oil and gas industry. He became a partner at Qualitec Technical Services in short order. After a very successful tenure at Qualitec, Eric and his loving wife ventured out on their own and in 2010 ELK Solutions was formed.

Eric first “met” Laura Drouin on an online gaming site.  It soon became apparent that the two had more in common than gaming. After only a month, Laura, a citizen of Canada, made a bold move to Texas. Their passion for diving, hunting, fishing and dogs formed a bond that enjoyed the test of time.

Eric left this earth to join our Heavenly Father on April 20, 2021.  He is survived by his wife Laura Drouin Krueger; twins Kyle Schmitt and Caroline Schmitt (Anthony Chancellor); three grandchildren, Kellan Schmitt, Ethan Liston and Emilee Funderburk. He is also survived by two brothers Kirk Krueger (Mary) and Scott Krueger, a neice and nephews. His extended family in Canada includes father in law, Leonel Drouin Sr., sister in law Diane McLasky, two brothers in law Lionel Drouin Jr. and Sheldon Pressey and several nieces and nephews. He leaves behind five fur babies, Claus, Clark, Claire, Christi, and Zack.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Sadie Dodds Krueger, mother in law, Ruth Drouin, and sister in law, Darlene Pressey.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 3, 2021 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Grand Parkway Chapel, in Katy, where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday with Rev. Pam Graham officiating.

A Texas size barbecue in his honor will be held immediately following the service at his home located at 3703 Wellsprings Lake Drive, Fulshear, Texas.  Attendees are asked to wear their best “Eric” attire.
