Pat Funk Burns

Retired from Seneca County Common Pleas Court after 30 years working for Tom Spellerberg. Moved to Florida. Worked for lawyers for a few years and decided to do something fun. So I bartended at a locals bar three days a week. It's one of those places where everyone knows your name. And it was fun.
Well, the next chapter is now unfolding. Having been quite ill part of 2016 and 2017 and 2018, I decided the important things in life were to be with family. I sold my home in Florida and while waiting for the closing to go thru Hurricane Irma (worst one yet) went thru and took part of the roof, the lanai, and smashed Mike's car, all of which we had to get fixed in a hurry. It worked out well and I moved to Perrysburg to be close to my daughter. My sons are also in Ohio. After I beat cancer for the third time, I spend my time going to the activities of the grandkids, helping my grandson with Augsbergers, running around with my daughter. It might be colder but it is so worth it.
In February, right after I moved I got another diagnosis of colon cancer in my liver and have been going thru treatment all year. I made it out the other side and have been working on getting back into shape. It sure isn't as easy as it was when I was younger and takes a lot longer, but I will make it.
Lost my husband in January, 2021. We had been separated but remained close. So it has been difficult.

Fond memories of the dances at Skateland after foodball games. Slumber parties and making silly phone calls in the middle of the night. Being in the band and all the football games, the fun we all had and the great guys on the field.
