Elizabeth A. Sims
Elizabeth A. "Betsy" Sims, 55, of Tiffin, passed away Sunday evening, Sept. 11, 2005, at her mother's residence.
She was born Oct. 4, 1949, in Tiffin to George J. and Helen E. "Betty" (Myers) Blust. On July 25, 1967, she married Ira Sims and they later divorced.
Survivors include her mother of Tiffin; fiancé Dave Shellhouse of Tiffin; six daughters, Mary (Tom) Robinson of Tiffin, Jennifer (Jimmie) Boyd of Upper Sandusky, Rebecca (Chad) Tiell, Amy Sims, Sara (Matt) Mears, Patricia Sims, all of Tiffin; a step-daughter, Vicki Krotzer of Fort Seneca; two brothers, George Blust and John (Rhea) Blust, both of Tiffin; two sisters, Mary Steinmetz and Carol Jane (Max) Eddy, both of Tiffin and 22 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ira Sims in 1998, and an infant brother, Tom Blust.
Betsy graduated from Calvert High School in 1967 and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She was involved with Girl Scouts for more than 45 years as a scout and a leader. She was a member of Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary 34 and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 12 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home with the Rev. Timothy Ferris officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Community Hospice Care or to the family.
