
ohn T. Miller "Iron Belly", 72, of Tiffin, passed away at 8:46 a.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at the Spring Creek Nursing & Rehab in Green Springs.
John was born on April 18, 1949 in Tiffin, to the late Earl G. and Rosemary C. (Welly) Miller. He married Artys (Schmanke) on November 3, 1984 and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include his brother, Mike (Jane) Miller of Tiffin, his step-son Steve (Lisa) Smith of Tiffin, son, Christopher (Novie) Miller of Tiffin, daughter, Lisa (Jeff) Kuelling of Port Clinton, step-grandson, Cody Smith of Columbus, step-grandson Jeffrey Kuelling of North Carolina and a granddaughter, Winter Miller.
John was a 1967 graduate of Tiffin Calvert, a Vietnam Veteran serving in the US Army from 1968-1971 and retired from Tiffin Metal Products in 2015.
John "Iron Belly" started the Seneca Muzzleloaders in 1993, which is a living history group devoted to recreating life on the frontier and in the fur trade era before 1840 and led it for most of its 28 years. John was also one of the originating living history founders of the Tiffin-Seneca Heritage Festival - Living Village dating back to when the Heritage Festival was hosted only on Frost Parkway in Tiffin. John was also a member of the Sandusky River Coonhunters.
John was preceded in death by his parents, wife and his brother, Ronald G. Miller.
There will be not be any funeral services held at this time. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.
