Jane Margaret Bintz

Jane Margaret Bintz, 66, of Tiffin, passed away Friday afternoon, April 15, 2016 at her home surrounded by family. 

On December 30, 1949 in Tiffin, OH, she was born to Richard J. and Margaret (Sloma) Smith. She married Dan Ickes on March 16, 1973 and later divorced. She married Mike Bintz on February 2, 1998 and he survives in Tiffin.

Other survivors include her children, Josh Ickes and Janelle (Joey) Benavides both of Tiffin; Meghan (John) Trowbridge of South Carolina; a brother, Alan (Janice) Smith of Heath, OH; sisters, Alice (Dennis) Teynor of Bucyrus; Deanna (Kenny Bittner) Balmer of Florida; five grandchildren, Raylynn, Karlexi and Kalissa, and Jack and Luke.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and first husband, Dan.

Jane was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a 1967 graduate of Tiffin Calvert High School. She attended Steubenville University and Heidelberg University before managing Gold Bond Furniture Store for over 25 years. She also worked at Coppus Motors and Baumann Dealerships as the Title Clerk, and H & R Block before retiring. Jane enjoyed golf outings, NASCAR fan, and volunteered at the Am Vets Post 48, American Legion Post 169 and Eagles Aerie 402 in Tiffin. Jane enjoyed being at home watching her grandchildren and spending family time together.

A Funeral Service will be Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 11:30 AM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will be later in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Friends may share stories and visit with the family on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.

A Celebration of Life luncheon will be Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Noon at the Am Vets Post 48 in Tiffin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
