Gregory E. “Greg” Sykes, 69, of Tiffin, passed away Monday afternoon, April 16, 2018, at his home.

He was born May 20, 1948, in Tiffin, to James D. and Marguerite (SanGregory) Sykes. He married Kathy L. Weithman Jan. 11, 1969.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy of Tiffin; three sons, Matthew (Kimberly) Sykes of Snohomish, Washington, Jeffrey (Angie) Sykes of Tiffin and Ryan (Sarah) Sykes of Hilliard; two daughters, Jennifer (Tim) Gaietto of Tiffin and Christiane (Andrew) Eggers of Hilliard; three sisters, Judy (Matt Gorski) Accetta of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Diana (Steve) Melroy of Newark and Rose (Leroy) Eisenhauer of Clyde; and 15 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Greg graduated in 1967 from Tiffin Calvert High School and worked at Webster Manufacturing for 46 years, retiring in 2013. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus No. 608. Church and faith were very important to Greg. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, softball, fishing, playing on his computer, was a true Cleveland fan and enjoyed watching The Ohio State Buckeyes. Greg loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Friends may visit with the family 4-8 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-2424.

His Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2018, at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Gary Walters officiating. A rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
