A friendly rivalry developed between Bob and me during the golf season of our senior year in high school. A few days before each match we would play 9 holes with the lowest nine hole score getting to be named the #1 golfer for that particular match. He usually won but not by much. Lol. He also had the lowest stroke average for the year. Again, I came in second but not by much. Lol. We enjoyed the competition. He was a good golfer and a good man.
My friendship with Bob dates back to grade school at Noble School, so nearly lifelong friends. Although I left Tiffin shortly after graduation, he always went out of his way to help me connect with classmates still in Tiffin and show me all the great accomplishments in Tiffin when I was in for a visit. He will be greatly missed and well remembered.
