David A. Barshel

BARSHEL, David A. 59, of Seminole, passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011. David was born on June 5, 1952 in Toledo, OH and moved to this area in 1982. David received his MBA in Finance from the University of Toledo. He was a Senior Vice President and Trust Officer with the Northern Trust Bank in Tampa. David was a loving husband and father. His family always came first in his life. He was active for many years coaching in youth sports and was an avid golfer and runner. Throughout his career, David served on the boards for several non profit organizations. David is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Karen Barshel; a son, Nicholas Barshel and three daughters, Christina Barshel, Alexandra Barshel, all of Seminole, and Abigail Hayden of Toledo, OH; his parents, LeRoy and Eldoris Barshel of Ft. Myers; and parents-in- law, James and Sylvia Davakis of Madeira Beach, along with a sister, Pamela (James) Staub of Ft. Myers. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Stefanos Greek Orthodox Church or the Leukemia &Lymphoma Society of Pinellas. David was a member of the St Stefanos Greek Orthodox Church, 3600 76th St., St. Petersburg, FL 33710 where Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011 at 10 am.
