I doubt many in our class remember Harry. He was not someone who was interested in fitting in, he had a maturity of life that was advanced beyond our high school years. I knew Harry from our days in the seventh grade at St Patricks of Heatherdowns elementary school, and our friendship lasted for all these years. Harry was one of the kindest, most humble persons I have ever known. I learned a great deal about living a good life from him and will cherish his memory forever. He was a devoted husband (48 yrs), a loving father, and an extremely proud grandfather. He was a hard working and uniquely talented craftsman with a gift for creating works of art in many types of materials. Sadly he passed away in the spring of 2013. The Cosmos will miss his energy.
Thank you for your lovely tribute to Harry. We never know who will enter our lives and chenge our directions. Clearly, Harry was that person for you. Hope to see you at the reunion. I enjoyed having your son, Michael, as my studnet assistant when I was chairing the Department of Art at UT.. He, too, has been a special part of my life.
I remember Harry well. I was struck by how mature he was. He looked like a full grown man even when in high school. As you said, Charlie, Harry preferred to stay off the radar, but he had a great sense of humor, and was always kind to everyone. I hope his life was rich and full.
Harry and his family were neighbors of mine on Penrose. I was good friends with his sister Emily. He was always quiet and reserved but a good brother and son. I remember the entire family fondly (and I was jealous as they were the only ones I knew with a housekeeper!) RIP Harry!
I remember Harry very well. He was someone I could talk to when I needed a friend - not sure anyone ever knew that. I remember his quiet gentle ways and his great sense of humor. Harry was wise beyond his years. So sorry for his loss.
