Classmate Connie Askew (Christenson) passed peacefully at Midland Hospice in Topeka, December 18, 2020.
After graduating from THS she attended Washburn University. She was a buyer for Hall’s Dept. store in Kansas City until later holding several positions with TWA Airlines. She started her own interior design business when she left TWA and ran it for over 20 years.
One of her favorite things to do was get together with a group from her graduating class at THS and go on trips.
Survivors include: twin sons Scott (Stacey) and Grant, as well as, three grandchildren Kelcey, Maeson Ballou and Cole Askew and sister, Candy Mosely (Jim) and three nieces.
The family will be holding a Celebration of Life at a later date. There is a complete obituary and a great photo of Connie on the Penwell-Gabel Topeka website.

Connie was a dear friend forever. She will be missed by her many friends from Topeka High. One summer many years ago we spent everyday together. Her husband was working and mine was in Emporia working on his Masters. We shopped, swam, and wasted everyday just having fun. She was living in Prairie Village and I was living in Lenexa. We made so many memories together. Rest in peace Connie.
