Harriette Rost (Macnish)

Classmate Harriette Rost Macnish passed, August 22nd, 2020 at her home in Topeka.  She married James M. Macnish Jr. August 29th, 1964. He preceded her in death April 28th, 2020.  She is survived by two daughters Eleanor Macnish of Albuquerque, NM (Thomas Moore), Margaret Macnish Cordill of Bloomington, IL (Mitch Cordill) and three grandchildren.

She met James in St Louis while attending Washington University. She later completed her degree in English Literature at Washburn University.  Harriette managed her her family’s land corporation and made annual business trips to their holdings in South Texas.  She was involved in numerous mayoral campaigns, charitable organizations and clubs.

A graveside interment service is planned for 1pm on Saturday, September 5th at Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave, Topeka.  No seating will be available. Burial will take place at the Octagon Columbarium with space to sit curbside in cars. Masks required.

Ohhhhhhh sorry to see this. Harriette was one of my favorite people at Topeka High.

She was always up and fun to be around. I saw her years later at the ERC Showhouse.

So sorry to hear of Harriette's passing.  We grew up togther from grade school and lived a block apart.  I knew here family very well. It was always a pleasure to do catering for Harriette when she entertained in the 80's.  I was blessed to know her. RIP.
