Stan was a very good wrestler! while I was a 2nd rate watcher of many, many good ones on that team!
I now see where he might have gotten some of his "wrestling DNA" as he was an Okie in disguise? HA! They do know wrestling in OK.
It's totally amazing to me to look at that specific THS wrestling team and see how many US Marines that came out of what is arguably, one of the toughest sports. It's a long list, mind you!
RIP, Stan.

Haven’t really kept up with THS acquaintances, but was so sad to see this note....Remember Stan as such a great guy, very good sense of humor, welcoming and friendly to new girl like me who only came to THS as a junior...also remember Penny...so pretty...so sorry...God bless...Carol Plant Manty

I was quite saddened to learn of Stanley's death. I often thought of him over the years and wished that somehow we had kept in touch. Stan and I wrestled together for sometime before I dropped out -- why?? We were comrades working under the help of Coach Bliss. Anyway, I have fond memories paling around with Stan, often riding with him in his 1940 Studerbaker always with a gallon jug of recycled motor oil in the back seat on the floor with a few beer cans. How those cans got there who knows. I remember his budding romance with Penny Nichols and how fond he was of her back in the day and, I guess, again years later. My condolences to Penny and family. Although we were not in touch for years, I will miss Stanley and the thought of seeing him again in this lifetime.

Stan was always a fun guy to be around. I remember a late night trip down Quinton Heights Hill (no snow) in his old clunker. I have ofter thought about him through the years. So sorry to hear of his passing!

I had Stan in History class. I'll always remember one day in class, Stan was not paying attention and the teacher sundenly asked, STANLEY, what do you think about that? Stan hesitated and replied, I don't know teach, what do you think? The teacher quickly replied, I don't think-- I know. Stan hesitated again, then replied, I don't think I know either. I have often thought of Stan through the years. He will still be remembered!
