I was looking through some old high school directories and found that Sharon died in a car accicent in 1988 (the 40 year class reunion directory).  In the 25 year class reunion directory, it stated that Sharon and Russ had 3 girls, that Sharon was employed by the Shawnee County Dept. of Corrections, and that she enjoyed reading and doing things with her family.  We knew each other when we went to Van Buren Grade School.  I lived 3 houses down from her.   She, her mother, and sister moved during grade school years, so I never got reacquainted with her in high school.  She was really a sweet girl and good friend in grade school.  Sonna (Edwards) Egbert

I was fortunate enough to become Sharon's best friend when my family moved to Crane Jr. Highs district shortly after the start of 8th grade.  Sharon became a very loyal friend thru THS and beyond. More than anything I remember all the laughter  & fun we had. Her family even took me along on a trip to Wisconsin . Mr Clark was such a dear to allow a fourth girl along with his 3.  It had to be a giggle convention.  We would both spend time together at each other Grandparents homes, not in Topeka.

After THS Sharon attended and graduated from Clark's Business  School in Topeka. She  soon started working for the State of Kansas as a Secretary. Eventually working for the Dept of Corrections at the Courthouse. She was highly respected by co-workers & clients. And was looked to for advise by many. She married Russ Aulton & they had 3 beautiful girls. Russ then was rarely in the picture & Sharon mostly  raised the girls on her own.   When the youngest was a teenager Sharon started back to college at the age of 43. Her girls were so excited, buying her notebooks and a bookbag. Unfortunately less than a year later she was diagnosed with liver cancer.  She fought it bravely doing all she could not to burden her family, esp her girls. She died a year later 14 March, 1989. The info in the 40 yr reunion info was apparently mistaken.  Sharon's both parents passed  later.

Her sisters Diane Jacques & Mary Cloud still miss her  dearly.  She was a dear Aunt to their children.

Sharon leaves behind her 3 daughters of whom she would be very proud.

Kim  Moran, a Physical Therapist & her husband Chris.  Kristine Bartow, a teacher & her husband & Kellie Aulton, a Secretary.    She now has seven Grandchildren  & a Great grandchild.   She was a good mother & would have good Grandmother.   She is  missed greatly by all whom were fortunate to know her.

I miss Sharon to this day, we use to joke a lot about  how we would be together in an 'Old Folks Home' someday.  And the antics we would get into,  to make up for being such 'good girls' in Jr. High & High School .    Sadly it was not to be.
