Gerald (Jerry) was diagnosed with esophageal cancer at the age of 30, after many surgeries and very poor health he died in a house fire in 1981. He is survived by his two sons Shawn & Dirk Bravence.
His legacy is his grandchildren who love to swim and compete, all due to Jerry insisting on building a swimming pool in our back yard in 1970 (25x40) so our boys could grow up doing what he enjoyed the most.
Ben Bravence 17 was named swimmer of the meet in the 2010 & 2011 Kansas High School Finals. Jerry would be proud.
