Don Daniels (Pete Daniels)

Classmate Pete Daniels, age 73, passed away recently at a hospice facility in Wichita. Pete was born on May 1,1943 and attended Curtis Junior High. He was my sister-in-law's only sibling. He married Claire Booth of Wichita and they divorced. Together they did have one son, Peter, who also lives in Wichita with his wife, Chenoa. Pete served in the Vietnam Nam war. He completed his bachelor's degree and then got a master's degree in library science before going to Vietnam Nam. He served as the librarian in Potawatomi County, KS, in Michigan City, IN, in Colorado, in West Palm Beach, FL and retired as the librarian in Independence, KS. He was well acclaimed as the person to hire if your area was building a new library. He had COPD and his health had deteriorated in the past few months. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, his sister, Sharon Oroke of Topeka, and two nieces and a nephew. Pete is being cremated, and no services are being held. The family will have a celebration of his life Father's Day weekend.
