Mary Del Nelson passed away on January 14, 1969.

Mary Del Nelson was my closest and best friend when we were growing up! We spent hours riding horses together and exploring all of the woods and creeks around our families farms since we lived next door to each other. As we got into high school we both became so busy that we spent less time together but still remained close friends. I will always cherish the times that we had together and still miss Mary Del and the innocence of those times.

Mary Del attended one-room Decker grade school until the fifth grade (school consolidation)then attended Tecumseh North thru the 8th grade. Attended and graduated from Highland Park High School. After graduation she was employed by the State of Kansas and later by the Wakarusa Sale Barn.

Mary Del was lover of animals and she owned horses and was an excellant horseback rider.She also enjoyed playing softball and basketball. Physical education was her favorite class.

Mary Del was born August 6,1943 and she died January 14,1969 after a 6 year illness.She is buried in Bethel cemetary south of Tecumseh in the neighborhood where she spent her entire life.
