Daniel E. Kapelle, 60, of Windsor passed away on May 31, 2008 after a courageous battle against ALS. Dan was born on Novermber 22, 1947 in Topeka, Kansas to Edward and Ann (Collins) Kapelle. He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1966. In 1981, he married Gloria Scheid in Topeka where they lived until they moved to Fort Collins in 1994. Dan was employed by Graphic Promotions as a bindery supervisor from 1966 to 1994 in Topeka. In Fort Collins, he owned Arrow Motors used car sales for two years. Following that, he held various jobs as a bindery machinist and an auto mechanic. He attended Allenspark Community Church and Timberline Church. Dan loved antique cars, and raised purebred Simmental cattle in Kansas. His greatest passion was spending time in the mountains. Dan is survived by his wife, Gloria of Windsor, sons Daniel Kapelle of Windsor and Jamie Kapelle (Kelly) of Topeka, and sisters Jane (John) Stonebraker of Topeka, Judy (David) Sorrell of Estes Park, and Joni (Steve) Atherly of Topeka. Dan was preceded in death by his daughter, Katie Kapelle.
