Michael H. Shaughnessy, 62, of Topeka, passed January 31, 2011, after a three year battle with cancer. His parents are Thomas and Marjorie (Dolezilek) Shaughnessy of Topeka. Survivors include: Kim Songs, Trisha and Katie Shaughnessy, Kaitlynn Tate, Katherine Heflin and grandson Isaac Songs. Mike was a graduate of Highland Park HS and Washburn U. He was a popular car salesman in Topeka for over 30 years. Mike was a long-standing member of the KC Symphony, board member of the Sunflower Music Festival and long time decorated member of the SME club of Topeka. There was a private celebration of his life at his home.
I shall miss you at the class reunion. I remember our first class reunion and I had your pin and had to find you. Boy, had you changed when I found you.
Mike was my primary debate colleague in high school and a good friend. I will always reget that I did not attend a reunion to reunite with him before he passed away.
