Gary R. Southall, 61, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2010. He was born on September 23, 1948 in Teaneck, New Jersey, the son of Burnell G. and Marjorie Kay Kenney Southall. He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1966 and received a BA degree in Education from Indiana University. Gary then entered the Army as an officer, serving from 1981 until receiving a medical discharge in 1989. He enjoyed working for T-Shirts Etc. for close to 20 years. Survivors include one son, Christopher B. Southall and fianc, Betsy Rebek, two grandsons; Trenton and Jake, his dog, Shadow, two brothers; Ed Southall and wife, Dawn, Rusty Southall and wife, Donna as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Garys family was his life.
It is a funny feeling you get. When someone you went to school with, played in their back yard, Climbed the trees. And now they are gone....my heart goes out to the family and friends of "Gary" especially Eddie and Dawn, as we went to school together through our childhood days.
I shall miss you dear FRIEND at the class reunion. We were never boyfriend girlfriend but really good friends. We were always at each other house and having a good time. Always, having dances at one others house. Your brothers Eddie and Russell was just like they were my brothers too. We sure had a good time growing up. Shall miss you dear FRIEND.
