James E. Roberts Jr., 38, Topeka, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, in Topeka.
He was born July 1, 1963, in Topeka, the son of James and Teresa Roberts. He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1981 and was a lifelong Topeka resident.
Survivors include a daughter; his father and stepmother, James and Janis Roberts, Topeka; his mother and stepfather, Teresa and Dennis Massey, Topeka; four brothers, Timothy Roberts, Virginia Beach, Va., Christopher Roberts, Auburn, and Sean Roberts and Michael Roberts, both of Topeka; and two sisters, Kimberly Howbert and Jolene Tryon, both of Topeka.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mr. Roberts will lie in state at the funeral chapel after 1 p.m. Thursday where visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m.
