My name s Darrell Deever I was in the HPHS class of 1962. I am married to Karen Haglund who was in the HPHS class of 1964. While visiting her site I was sad to learn Frank Wright had passed away.
Frank was one of my very good friends. After school we lost contact. He was always upbeat and a lot of fun to be around. I have many fond memories of the times we went water skiing on lake Wabansee and stayed at his parents cabin. It makes me very sad to hear he is no longer with us. Rest in peace good old friend..
Frank and I were in the school band for all 4 years of high school. He played drums. I never saw him have a down moment, or even frown. His sunny outlook always lifted the rest of us up. I remember Mr. Tice entrusted Frank with composing a new drum cadence for the band to march to, and he came through with a really nifty beat that we used for a long time. Frank, thanks for this and many other good memories. I will miss seeing you this weekend in Topeka.
I am so sad to hear Frank has passed. We went through grade school and high school together. He was always "on". Just a wonderful, funny person. I wish I could thank you, Frank, for serving our country and for giving of yourself to so many.
