John Evans JEB Brown, 64, of Topeka, passed away, Thursday, July 21, 2011 at his home. He was born July 9, 1947 in Ft. Smith, AR. He is preceded in death by his parents Wyatt and Louise Brown. He was a 1965 graduate of Highland Park High School. John was employed 43 years with BNSF as a computer systems analyst. John was a member of the Shawnee County Mounted Posse from 1968-74. He loved sports and was a player/coach in the Topeka fast pitch softball leagues. He coached youth baseball for 15 years in the Topeka area and remained active with youth baseball attending his grandsons games. He was an avid golfer, belonging to the Lake Shawnee Golf Course. John married Jackie Sanders December 30, 1967, in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Chad (Melanie) and Jason (April) Brown, Topeka; two brothers, Jerry Brown, Mayetta, KS, James (Connie) Brown, Berryton, KS; four grandsons, Ryan, Caleb, Braeden and Cooper Brown; his Aunt, Neelie Mae Lewis, as well as many nieces and nephews.
