Delois Louise "Dee Dee" Kemp

Delois Louise Kemp "Dee Dee" was born in El Reno, OK on January 22, 1947 to Rev. Philip LaRue Kemp and Marie Kemp (Shipp). Her father (1989), her mother (1959), along with her loving big sister, Phyllis Marie Harold (2006) all preceded her in death. In 1949, the family migrated from OK to Topeka, KS. Delois attended Rice Elementary School, East Topeka JH, and graduated from Highland Park HS in 1965. Delois accepted Christ and was baptized at St. Luke's Baptist Church in 1956. In 1980, the love of her life and only child was born, Juan Antonio Kemp. Delois joined Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church in 1992 and was a devoted member. On Saturday, April 11, 2009, at age 62, Delois' battle with ovarian cancer ended. She was surrounded by her loving family. She leaves to cherish her memories: her son, Juan Kemp; and niece she claimed as her child, Lisa Goshon; 4 sisters, Gloria White (James), Cecilia Agee (Joe deceased), Juanita Kemp, and Cynthia Kemp; 2 brothers, Lloyd Paul Kemp (Vernita) and Michael Kemp; 2 granddaughters, and a host of nieces and nephews.
