Daniel J. (Dan) Urban Daniel J. (Dan) Urban, 66, of Topeka, died February 15, 2014, at the House at Midland Care. He was born on February 24, 1947, in Topeka, the son of Alfred and Mary (Richmond) Urban. Dan graduated from Highland Park High School. He received a BS and MBA from Fort Hays State University along with receiving an Associate of Arts degree from Washburn University. He served in the US Army during Vietnam where he was awarded several medals including the Purple Heart and Vietnam Service Medal with Two Bronze Service Stars. Dan was a Computer Programmer and a Systems Analyst for the State of Kansas for approximately 40 years. He married Sharon K. Rowland on June 21, 1975, in Eskridge, KS. She survives. Other survivors include his daughters, Jennifer Urban Theis of Denver, CO, and Erin Urban of St. Louis, MO along with two sisters, Kathy (Ron) Sommers and Lori Arbaiza, both of Topeka. He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Urban.
