Roxanne Bunch (Shepherd)

August 29, 1947 - February 26, 2014

Roxanne Anita Bunch Shepherd was born August 29, 1947 in Topeka, Kansas where she lived all of her life. She was a graduate of Highland Park High School. She retired from Stormont-Vail Hospital where she was first employed in the Sterilization Department. Later, she became a Ward Secretary and finally a Certified Nursing Assistant. After her retirement from Stormont-Vail she was employed as a paraprofessional at Highland Park High School and the Florence Crittenden Home as a Group Home Worker until her health failed. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church where she served at one time as an usher. She also worked with the Deborah Circle and was a former member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Shepherd; a son, Walter Lee Emerson; her parents, Eugene Henry Bunch, Sr. and Kathryn Lee Bunch; her stepmother, Katherine Nichols Bunch and her brother Eugene Henry Bunch, Jr. Roxanne is survived by her son, Michael E. Meadows (LaVonne), four grandchildren, Da'Maris and Zion Meadows, Tavian Emerson, and Jayden Johnson; a stepbrother, Walter (Butch) Johnson; an aunt, Alice Lee; an uncle, Mahlan Bunch, many cousins and her very good friend, Katie Saunders. Roxanne worked very hard all of her life to take care of her family. She enjoyed crocheting and doing arts and crafts.
