Barbara Lynn (Sanderson) Robinson, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on November 7, 2024. She was born on September 2, 1947, in Topeka, Kansas, to John and Gladys (Redding) Sanderson. Barbara’s life was marked by a deep love for her faith, her family, and a boundless spirit for adventure.
A proud graduate of the University of Kansas, Barbara’s passion for helping others led her to a dedicated career as a physical therapist. She served her patients with compassion, skill, and an unwavering commitment to their well-being. Outside of work, Barbara was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church, where her faith was a source of strength and comfort. Her love for Jesus and the KU Jayhawks was a constant in her life, and she found great joy in attending services, crafting, and caring for her beloved cats.
After the passing of her husband, Mike Robinson, with whom she shared nearly 40 wonderful years, Barbara embraced a new chapter as a world traveler. She ventured across the globe, creating cherished memories and experiencing cultures that enriched her already vibrant life. Closer to home, Barbara delighted in exploring the world with her grandchildren, whom she adored. Her love for them and for travel brought joy to their lives and created lasting bonds.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Robinson; her parents, John and Gladys Sanderson; and her sister, Margaret Scott.
She leaves behind her son, David Robinson, and his wife, Shandra; her treasured grandchildren, Austin, Kierstin, and Kayla Robinson; her beloved great-grandson, Colt “Cornbread” Chamberlain; her sister, Linda McCullum; numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews; “BaMaw’s boy,” Elijah Marshall; and a host of church family and friends who will miss her deeply. Barbara’s legacy of love, faith, and joyful spirit will live on in all who knew her.
