Carman Hartzler (Morstorf)

Carman Kay Morstorf, age 68, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, December 05, 2018 in Topeka. Carman was born January 14, 1950 in Topeka the daughter of Sherman and Velma C. Ferren Hartzler. Carman grew up in Topeka, graduating from Highland Park High School. She would graduate in 1968 and go on to attend Washburn University from 1973 – 1975. She would then attend Capital City Barber School, graduating in 1977, being one of the first female graduates. She owned and operated Carman’s Barber Shop in North Topeka for over 20 years.

She is survived by a son, Corey Cozzi of Topeka; a daughter, Heidi Stepp of Topeka; three brothers, Darl Holmes of Topeka, Bick Holmes of Topeka and Bart Holmes of Emporia; a granddaughter, Regann Fox and a great granddaughter, Kennedi Fox.

Memorial visitation will be Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Private inurnment will be at Topeka Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society for Avalon Hospice and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.
