DJ Suggestion
Posted Saturday, June 6, 2009 06:03 PM

Hi Chris, first, great site and thanks for all your work.
I have a suggestion even though it may be to late at this point, I remember that at one dance at BMHS we actually had 'Jed the Fish' a DJ from KROQ. He's still around and thought it would be kind of neat to consider him if you don't already have something lined up. Just a thought

BOINGO! Is there really any other music?

Thanks for all your work,

Some song ideas:

Tone Loc: wild thing and funky cold medina
L'trimm: cars that go boom
MC shy D: shake it

And of course, lots and lots of Boingo!!

Wow, Lisa, I was trying to explain to a friend out here in Virginia that we had a real radio station DJ at one of our school dances and for the life of me couldn't remember his name!

A few suggestions for music:
Anything by Duran Duran & Depeche Mode
Madness--Our House
Men w/o Hats--Safety Dance
Cyndi Lauper--Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
Dexy's Midnight Raiders--Come on Eileen

I'll take up the reins to stand up for all the cheese and one-hit wonders of the era (in addition to culling from the KROQ roq of the 80's wesbsite:

Too Shy-Kajagoogoo
Jonah in the Belly of the Whale-Burning Sensations
Just got Lucky- JoBoxers
Hazy Shade of Winter-Bangles
Never Gonna Give You Up-Rick Astley
True-Spandau Ballet
Good Thing (or She Drives me Crazy)-Fine Young Cannibals
Pop Song '89-R.E.M.
Mountain Song-Jane's Addiction
Bizarre Love Triangle-New Order
Black Coffee in Bed (Or Pulling Mussels from a Shell-Squeeze
Cities in Dust-Souxsie and the Banshees
Happy Birthday-Concrete Blonde
Tomorrow People-Ziggy Marley
Anything, Anything-Dramarama
Fight for your Right-Beastie Boys
Panic-the Smiths
4th of July-X
Wild Flower-the Cult
(Don't You) Forget about Me-Simple Minds

obviously there needs to be lots of Culture Club, Flock of Seagulls, and WHAM! in the mix..but there is just too much good stuff to narrow it down just the now.
