Drina sat next to me in choir during my senior year back in the fall of '83. She had a lovely soprano voice, a fact I shared with her quite a few times - she was much shyer than I when it came to singing and performance, and I wanted to ensure Mr Fenn noticed her for solos or singing with the smaller choir group he assembled every year. She was struck by a car and killed just days before the annual Christmas concert, which remains one of the most difficult shows I've ever had to sing through, and I've done thousands of shows of all stripes at this point. To this day, I can't sing Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas without crying, If any of her friends or family ever read this, please know that I saw, up close and personal, how special she was.
