James “Jim” Thomas Conboy

James T. Conboy passed away peacefully at home on July 22, 2021. He was born in Worcester, MA on June 13, 1957 and grew up in Torrington, CT. 

Jim moved to the DC area in 1975 where he attended George Washington University and received his Bachelors Degree. He met his wife, Maryanna, in 1981, they married in 1984 and have 3 beautiful children: Megan, Emily, and Kevin.

Jim’s friends could always count on great jokes, witty conversation, and endless talk of his beloved Redskins. You would find Jim watching a game on any given Sunday. HIs love for grilling and cooking was so satisfying for his family! He truly enjoyed creating the next best marinade each time he stepped up to the grill. And the dogs…Jim might not have quickly admitted it but he loved all the dogs Maryanna managed to bring home and would be seen walking around the neighborhood with the menagerie every day.

To see Jim with his wife and kids was to see overwhelming joy and love. It is undeniable that while life had its challenges, nothing could hold a candle to the Conboy strength and perseverance. Jim’s shining smile and hearty laugh will surely be missed.

Jim is survived by his wife, Maryanna, three children Megan (Shane), Emily (Johnny), and Kevin,  his father John, step mother Anne, his mother in law Frances,  his  brother John (Jeanne), Rob (Janet), and sister Beth (John).  He is also survived by his brothers in law Fr. Sean Kenney, Paul, Gavin (Linda), Neil and Michael.   He leaves behind many wonderful friends, nieces, nephews and cousins.
