Bill Smith passed away on Jan. 10, 2013. William A. Smith, 55, of Burlington, CT passed away Thursday, January 10th, at Hartford Hospital. He was the husband of Lisa (Marcantonio) Smith.
William was born in Torrington, CT on November 29, 1957, son of Sally (McCarty) Smith of Torrington and the late Harvey Smith. He was a graduate of St. Mary's School of Nursing with honors in 1994 and continued his nursing education receiving his BSN from Central Connecticut State University in 2009 with honors. He was a RN BSN employed by Veteran's Administration CBOC in Waterbury.
He was a devoted husband and father who took great pride in raising his only son. He enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends. He was also an avid antiques collector, and enjoyed home refurbishing, camping, and golfing. He was a Detroit Red Wings and Tiger's fan, and enjoyed watching all sports.
In addition to his wife and mother, William is survived by a son, Connor Smith, a brother Christopher Smith, of Winsted; three sisters, Andrea vanNoordennen and husband Gerard of Burlington; Brenda Engdahl, and husband Dr. John Engdahl of Peoria, IL; and Paula Jagiello, of Berlin. He was predeceased by son Tyler Allen Smith and brothers Harvey "Jinx" Smith and Frank Smith.
