Robert M. Whitney, Jr., 57, of Red Mountain Avenue, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013. Mr. Whitney was born in Torrington on Sept. 25, 1956, son of the late Robert M. Whitney, Sr. and Helen (Minik) Whitney and was a Torrington resident for most of his life.He was a graduate of Torrington High School and had worked as a truck driver with Alleghney Transport in East Hartford. Robert was a member of the Eagles Club and enjoyed all types of cars.Survivors include a daughter; Danielle Whitney, a sister; Patricia A. Hardisty and her husband, Richard, of Sheffield, Massachusetts, a niece; Heather Hardisty, of Chanute, Kansas, a nephew; Richard Hardisty, Jr., of Sheffield, Massachusetts and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
