50th Reunion
INVOCATION
We wish to thank Susan Mitchell for her touching and eloquent invocation. We present the text here for your enjoyment.
Dear Class of 1972, I am so happy to be here tonight. We are a community that was together for four years as the class of 1972, and we are still a community here tonight. We are still connected by bonds formed 50 years and we have changed and grown throughout those years. We remember in a special way all those who have gone before us. If you notice the table in the corner with the framed photos and the candle, those are for those who have died from our class. We remember them and honor them--for they are still a part of us. I encourage you to stop by the table some time this evening.
We give thanks for all who made this evening possible--the committee, those who prepared the site, and cooked and serve our food. We give thanks for all our teachers and administrators, all those who cared for us during our formative years.
And we go on in hope for a better future. This hope will carry us forward and we will meet again. Amen
