
CLIFTON PARK - Mr. Patrick McCoy, of Clifton Park, NY died on January 20, 2015. Mr. McCoy graduated from Troy High School in 1957 and attended HVCC and Empire State College. He was employed by the A&P Tea Co. in Watervliet and Troy prior to his employment as a Field Engineer for the General Electric Computer Division that eventually became Honeywell and Honeywell/Bull. He was a District Manager for Honeywell/Bull Information Systems until his retirement in 1995. He also served as a Naval Reservist on Active Duty on the USS Bigelow DD942, from 1958 to 1960. He eventually retired from the Naval Reserve as The Command Master Chief for NRTC Albany with 31 years of Service. In 1995 Mr. McCoy accepted a position with NYS DMNA and eventually retired as Director of the New York Naval Militia in 2004. Mr. McCoy served on the Advisory Board for the NY National Guard Challenge Program. Mr. McCoy was the founder and a member of the Capitol Area CPO Organization, a member of the New York Naval Militia with the rank of CWO5, NERA (Naval Enlisted Reserve Association), the NRA (Naval Reserve Association), the Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem (Knights Templar) MANY (Militia Association of New York) where he served on the Executive Committee, New York State Joint Veteran’s Council as Treasurer, and was a former member of the Colonie Elks Lodge. Pat was an avid golfer and played in several golf leagues. Patrick J. McCoy was predeceased by a brother Shaun P. McCoy of Watervliet, NY and by his beloved and dedicated wife, Jean H. (Mancinelli) McCoy of Clifton Park, NY. He is survived by a daughter Debra J. McCoy of Niskayuna, NY, son Kevin P. McCoy (Susan) of Fayetteville, NY, son Dennis M. McCoy of Cohoes, NY, son LTC (USA, Ret.) Brian T. McCoy (LTC Charlene Smith-McCoy, USA, Ret.) of Williamsburg, VA, and son Terry A.
