Anna Wasula Kawola NORTH GREENBUSH - Anna Wasula Kawola, 78, of North Greenbush, passed into eternal rest on Wednesday December 30, 2015, at The Van Rensselaer Manor in Troy. Anna was born in Poland on November 12, 1937 and was the daughter of the late John and Emily Patrician Wasula, she immigrated to the United States on July 7th 1949. Anna was raised in Troy and was a life-long resident of 66 years, she graduated from Troy High School and was employed by the State of New York, office of General Services. Following her high school graduation until her marriage in 1962. She was a homemaker until she returned to become employed with CSEA with the State of New York from 1987-2001 as an administrative secretary. Her expert secretarial skills in shorthand and typing were cherished and valued by her collective bargaining unit at the Civil Service Employment agency ,as was her impeccable work ethic and attention to detail. She attended St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Troy and her faith in Jesus Christ gave her strength throughout her life. She also was a parishioner of St. Jude’s Church in Wynantskill in the 1970’s and she was active in the church activities and singing in the choir and she volunteered at Unity House during the early days of its inception. She enjoyed her backyard activities and being with God’s creations and feeding birds, chipmunks and squirrels .She also enjoyed socializing with her neighbors. Anna is survived by her former spouse Samuel J. Kawola, her brother John Wasula of Rochester NY, her two sons Mark Kawola of Watervliet and Jeffrey Kawola of Orlando, Florida, her granddaughter Alexandria Kawola and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Anna will be held on Tuesday morning January 5, 2016, at 9 AM at The Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, 336 Third Street, Troy and at 9:30 am at St. Michael The Archangel Church, Williams road in Troy where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 8 am to 9am. Interment Memory Gardens Cemetery, Watervliet Shaker road. In lieu of flowers charitable donations can be made to either St. Michael’s Church in Troy NY or Bethany Food Drive Center of Troy NY
