William H. DeCelle, 71, died May 16, 2011, at his residence in Amsterdam, NY. Son of the late Henry and Grace LaDue DeCelle. He graduated from HVCC - NYS Municipal Police Academy.
Bill was employed by the D&H R.R. for 26 years and retired as a police officer in 1998 (served as a Waterford Police Officer from 1960-66) and had worked at the Watervliet Arsenal.
Community Activities: Master of the Clinton Masonic Lodge F&AM, Waterford, former member of the Waterford Rescue Squad, Boy Scouts of America and the Knickerbocker Steamer Co. #1. He was also a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Waterford.
Survived by his wife Carol Bladen DeCell; children, William K. (Bonnie) of Waterford, Heath A. DeCelle (Debbie) of Cohoes, Sharlene S. Jones (Randy) of Tribes Hill, eight grandchildren and one grandson. Brother of Joan Patregnani of Waterford and the late Susan L. Rysedorph.
