Born at the Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, New York on March 5, 1945, Helene Beth Weiss, daughter of Ralph and Faye Weiss, died in Houston, Texas on January 6, 2024.
She grew up on Burdett Avenue in Troy, was a graduate of Troy High School and Boston University, and lived in the Boston area for most of her adult life. Helene is survived by her son, Sean Callahan of New Orleans, Laura Callahan of San Francisco, Laura’s daughter Josie Fay, sister Barbara Schecter, niece Robin Peterson and nephew John Schecter. 

She was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.

My sister, Helene, died peacefully of COPD in a hospital in Houston, Texas on January 6. Her daughter, Laura Callahan, was with her until the very end, holding her hand, telling her stories, playing her favorite music. In addition to Laura, she is survived by her son, Sean Callahan.
