Dorothy died from cancer on May 5, 2017.  This was reported by her cousin MaryKay Ryan Pawlows.

 There will be a memorial service on Saturday June 3, 2017 at Our Lady of Victory Church.  Details have been added below.

Ryan, Dorothy TROY Dorothy "Do" Ryan left us to be with the Lord on May 5, 2017. Born in Troy on September 20, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Frank J. Ryan Sr. and Mary Bolster Ryan; and sister of the late Frank J. Ryan Jr. Dorothy grew up in South Troy graduated from Troy High School, H.V.C.C., Siena and Sage Graduate School. She worked for New York State in various departments and for Empire State College Center for Distance learning as a mentor. She was formerly married to Pat Aiezza. Dorothy is survived by a large group of Ryan cousins and one maternal cousin. She will be fondly remembered by her friends, Jo-Ann Ucci, Jenny Hamill, Harriet Durivage, Barbara Lanfear, Jeannette Scott, Jo-Ann Spinelli, Mary Duprey and Ann and Bud Grace. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial in her honor, will be celebrated on Saturday, June 3, at 12 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church with Reverend Randall Patterson, Pastor officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the Church on Saturday morning from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. Inurnment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy. Instead of flowers, please make a donation to the Frank J. Ryan Jr. '69 Memorial Scholarship at Hudson Valley Community College. Arrangements are under the direction of The Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, Troy.
