COLONIE - Shirley A. Brown, 77, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2023. She had a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
She grew up in Vanderhyden in Troy, N.Y., and graduated from Troy High School. Shirley worked for the NYS Department of Labor for most of her adult life until she retired. She was a member of the Albany Church of Christ, and it was a big part of her life.
Shirley is survived by sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She is also grieved by many close friends. Shirley was loved deeply and will be truly missed. She is no longer in pain, and she is now at peace. Sleep in peace.
The family of Shirley Brown would like to thank the staff of Livingston Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center who cared for Shirley during her illness. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Albany Church of Christ.
There will be a service held on January 27, at 1:00 p.m., at the Albany Church of Christ located at 30 Russell Road, Colonie, N.Y. 12205.
